Ford fusion stuttering

Hi there, was wondering if I could pick someone's brain!
I currently own a ford fusion 1.4 2004 tdci and when I turn the engine on, on occasion, the engine started like jolting or stuttering like it's gonna cut out but doesn't, the revs dip (obvs) but yeah just wondering of anyone else has had that trouble or knows why it's doing that?
