Fitting a turbo to a vw t25

Not aware of this being done on that engine. Porsche engine conversion however are quite popular but probably as complicated as fitting a turbo.

What are your aims? Have you looked at supercharging as this is moderately easier to setup than a turbo conversion would be?

I just want to get more power from the engine, i know that i can change the barrels and pistons to up it to a 3 litre so will be looking at doing that also

I'll be surprised if you can increase the capacity to 3litre and still add a turbo.

You need to be really careful with the compression ratios. Do you know what the compression ratio will be with the new barrels/pistons?

The simple answer is no. i have just been told from my VW specialist that i can up the capacity to 3 litre, at the moment i am just looking at all the potions and seeing what the best options will be, Subaru conversions are common in vw's but i would like to keep the engine that i have already and get as much power from that as i can. if keeping the same capacity and fitting a supercharger or turbo will add more power that upping to 3 litre without, then that may be the route that i will go down.what are your thoughts?

Yes i understand that and also the cost will be in the thousands, the alternative is to change the engine to one that already has all the power and will probably be much cheaper and easier

But where is the fun in that! ;)

Seriously though you have to decide what your overall aim is, set a budget and how much time you have and then stick to the plan.

Please start up a project thread, it will help others after you and allow you a point of reference to go back to in the future. I am very interested to see what you do with this and how it all works out.
