Have had one carried out and any leaks are quickly found

We use a small microphone designed to pick up the subtle hiss of an air leak. It's quite effective and it also detects air escaping such as from an air suspension system. The smoke test is the tried and tested method though. Not sure i'd spray carb cleaner on an engine though, you may as well pour petrol over the engine!

A good find though and a good read.
