LHD - 2.4 Litre - The Fiat Dino was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1966 alongside the Dino Berlinetta GT (later to become known as the Ferrari Dino 206 GT). Sharing the same two litre, four cam, V6 engine as the Ferrari Dino, they would both later benefit from the racing pedigree of the Ferrari 246 Grand Prix engine. When Ferrari decided to race in Formula 2, adopting the new V6 engine designed by Enzo Ferraris son Dino, they experienced a problem that they could not build enough cars to satisfy the homologation rules, thus striking a deal with Fiat and creating a joint Dino venture. The Fiat Dino model was built as two models, the Pininfarina designed Spyder and Coupe, designed by Bertone. The Fiat Dino Coupe would seat four people and accelerate from 0 – 60 in just 8 seconds, ultimately reaching 130mph while making all the right Ferrari-esque noises. With the 2400cc engine introduced in 1969, just 980 Coupe models were to be built in 1969, making them highly sought after amongst collectors. This superb example was built very late in 1969 and delivered shortly after to its first private owner in Switzerland. Remaining in Switzerland until early 1990, it was later purchased by a UK based owner and subsequently exported to the United Kingdom, with UK registration granted in March 1990. It has since remained in the United Kingdom receiving a stable service history. In 2014, with values steadily increasing, it was decided to invest in a most comprehensive restoration. Completed by marque specialists J.K Engineering, the car was taken back to bare metal before being painted to the highest of levels as well as all mechanical systems being carefully re-built. The interior was beautifully re-trimmed in the light Tan hide that is seen today. It was only when the owner purchased a Dino 246 GT, that he decided to part with the car and it was subsequently sold to a director of H & H Classics. Its most recent owner acquired the car in April, 2016. Being the stickler for perfection, it was immediately sent to receive a most comprehensive engine rebuild by DK Engineering. Once stripped down, an engine rebuild with no expense spared was completed before being carefully reunited with the car. Today this Dino has covered an indicated 21,300 Miles from new and presents and drives exceptionally as a result of its recent work. Accompanied by its spare key, an extensive history file documenting both old maintenance and most recent engine work, and original spare wheel. Presented with full UK registration this Fiat Dino is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately with viewings available at our showrooms just outside London and must be one of the finest examples available.
