Have you ever driven a car with an unsafe load?

I saw this shocker on the BBC and thought you should see it:

I can say from personal experience that roping a king sized mattress to a roof rack then going down the motorway is definitely not the best idea.

Yesterday at a zebra crossing a van pulled up sharp and the whole load of wood on the roof rack (which was not secured) shot forward across the crossing.

That could have been really dangerous and the guy driving looked like the thug builder from your worst nightmare!
