We are migrating to a new SSD server. This may result in some downtime which I will hopefully minimize, as of yet there are no dates or times, but I will try my best to keep you posted.

Use http not https whilst the migration is happening.

Do you anticipate major throughput gains?

As an old fuddie duddie IT manager type I've always been RAM happy for serverside applications but RAM is now so readily available that it's a very old and cheap trick.

Pages should render faster but we might loose some stability in the process as we are leaving a self healing cloud and monitored service. Costs have to be cut but this seems like a good reliable solution with the benefit of some added speed.

It should be OK once all the caching and DNS propagation has happened. Hardware now is highly reliable, and SSDs don't have moving parts so I think it will be a gain for all concerned.

And we're back, hopefully! Just testing and securing the server. Still lots of work to be done behind the scenes.

If you spot anything screwy please let me know ASAP.

We have acquired a new IP address with a bad spam email reputation, two days on trying to clear this we are still not getting emails out to many of our members.

Please bear with us. If you get a message from us in spam, please mark it as not spam as this will help us out.

Everything has been stable now on the new server for a few days.

How are you finding it? Faster? Reliable? Stable? Are the emails getting through to you ok or ending up in spam.
