Winter is upon us and there are reports of snow, doom and gloom (as every year there is the same predictions)

Will snow and ice stop you driving anywhere? How about non essential trips compared to your commute to work or to go out and buy food?

My daily driver is an v6 turbo autech nissan stagea estate It is awd but also has a special snow mode setting

This changes quite a few settings

engine map is changed so more low down power to pull away
similarly - the gearbox settings change so pulls away in 2nd and changes up earlier (also has tiptronic so can be "manual if you prefer"
also the awd mode changes so if any single wheel starts spinner power is cut to that specific wheel .
I wont say it cant get stuck but it hasnt yet.

PS it also has a sport mode which does pretty much the opposite
All this on a 13 year old car .

Those Japanese cars were and still are technologically advanced! That is interesting about Snow mode, I've never really thought about what it does.

Brian if and when your Stagea does get stuck you will be further away from help

BUT you most likely wont as I'm sure you are well aware of both you and your cars limitations |B
