Diesel cheaper than petrol

Hey for the first time in many years Diesel is cheaper than petrol!

There is a massive 1p per litre difference hopefully this will increase and they will eventually start paying us to empty the pumps of diesel!

£1.08 for diesel here in Shaftesbury today. £1.12 for 95ron petrol

1.12 is still outrageous for essential fuel

True, back when we paid 70p we would have been shocked to be paying £1. But we seem quite happy now because it went up to £1.50 at one point.

Unfortunately I still remember grumbling when 4* petrol went over £1.00 a gallon

4*??? You were lucky! We had to make do with 2 star. In fact we had to pay 't garage owner for the privelege.

Got my first car in 1988 - circa £1.50 per gallon of 4*. Unleaded was a rarity at that time. I couldn't even fit twenty quid's worth into the tank. Twenty quid barely registers on the gauge now.

The youngsters will be fondly remembering when unleaded was
99.9 per litre in about 20 years.

We all played up a bit in yr 2k when it was transgressing 80p/litre. I'm young(ish) at 45 years but I could not even get twenty quid's worth of fuel into my car in 1987.
