can someone please explain the rules behind catalytic converters. Can i have a de-cat and then put the cat back on for its MOT.Is it hard to do?[/b]

yep thats fine but put it back on a few week before the mot and i would keep it dry may sound silly but the honey cone inside doesn't want to get wet as it might damage it.

Strictly speaking if your car requires a CAT for the MOT then it should have a cat in all year round. A spot check at the side of the road by the Police will reveal the missing CAT! (This is something they have been known to do in our area!)

ok...... when your cat is broken keep it and take the insides out. then when they look under your car they will see there is a cat there :D cats last for about 4 years tho
