the number plate thing it is something you have to buy is a online thing never looked into it as we have never needed it
and if you do need it just ring your parts people and they will tell you

we use autodata for are receipts it is a dear program but good as it gives you the times for the jobs and data ect
can buy it online from autodata or you could look on ebay
but dont download it as its bad lol

or you could get a hand written one for now again ebay/online or staples

For doing mobile services, what would you advice to put on the floor of people's drives..? I'm thinking of a plastic sheet on the floor over the front part of the car and then a sheet of some sort to soak up anything that drips, and then it would have the plastic as a backup incase it leaks through the sheet..

What would you advice? What plastic etc.?

Also what would you advice for catching the oil etc.?

You can get a plastic oil catch can or use an old oil bottle with the side cut out, lift up carefully and pour into a container for disposal through the nozzle.
