Assuming both the big car and the hot hatch did 0-60 in 5 seconds which would you prefer and why?

The big car can be American muscle or something in the A6, Volvo 740 and BMW 7 series class of cars.

The hot hatch can be anything in the fiesta ST, Saxo, Polo and Mini class of car (were not including family sized cars of the Astra, A3, Golf size here)

BIG car 8) I need the boot space.
I have never been a fan of small cars, its just my personal opinion but the only small car that ever looked the part was the original Mini.

1970 Chrysler new yorker wth a mini in the boot as your spare wheel lmao

I saw loads of motor homes with small cars in Tow on Holiday  ! Putting one in the boot would save clocking up extra miles on it!

you took the family hatches outta the equation,
i dont really like small cars, the cuple zones arent big enough, to make me feel safe.
hatchbacks do tend to have better acoustics for the Sound minded.
and tey are lighter, so save fuel.

but if you put a Seat Ibiza Cupra, or polo gti, Next to the Audi A6/Volvo V70,
i'd say i love big cars, more comfort, more prestige, more space for a junk & or a body in the boot.

in my opinion, Small Hatches mainly suit small people, that are under 25.

Definitely BIG..

I'd definitely have to go with BIG cars! I had a Citroen AX and then an Escort TDi and preferred the larger of the two. Unfortunately the Escort kind've broke and then MOT ran out two so i hastily grabbed the closest thing which was a Rover 25, mistake yes, but nevermind. But, now with the BMW i have all the room i need, as well as room for my mates and it's so much quieter and comfier albeit thirstier.

Anyway should i be choosing a car it'd have to be something like a Dodge Charger, supercharger out of the bonnet etc. Just the raw power of those machines is absolutely awesome. I want to be able to rev it and the car to rock!

So younger drivers prefer hatches and older drivers prefer big cars then! Is that true in your case?

Holy thread resurrection Batman! lol. I last replied to this 9 years ago! Ouch! I'm on to a Focus ST again now, the draw of the fun blue oval was too much for me to escape. I'd still have a Charger though as an addition :D

When I was younger I was all about the hot hatch (Golf GTIs).
Now I'm older I'm all about the fast saloon. I sold the idea to the wifelet by telling her it was a 4 door family saloon, room for the kids (if/when that ever happens), etc. Just so happens to also hit 60 in 6 seconds :)

Threads never die on here, and it's interesting for me to revisit some of those old topics and see how my opinions or views have altered over the years. ;)

I will always have a soft spot for hot hatches, but these days I would have a C63 v8.

And to be honest, today's hot hatches are incredibly fast but are they as involving as the old classics? I don't think they are. Had a passenger ride in a new civic type r and its fast but its anoydne, all turbo. Where's the screaming n/a sound?

Turbo's are the future. N/A is old hat and VTEC can suck my turbo's whistle :D
