Was anyone out there lucky enough to own a series 1 Beta Coupe. I was lucky enough to find a 1600cc 1977, S reg in red (was originally blue light upon further investigations). Not a bad car to start on your motoring experience. Still in a red (Fiat) Coupe, although slightly over twice the Lancia's original 105 bhp

That sounds like a fantastic find. There are only a few still around today! What mods have been done to the car - double hp sounds quite extensive to me!

It was a good find. It's a shame it was such a long time ago, 18 years, how time flies. I had the car for around 3 years before moving on to my first(often forgotten 1.5) Alfa 33. I remember at the time, specialist tuners were quoting 220bhp out of the Fiat 2.0 TC,but the 1.6 was left alone. It was cheaper to drop a 131 power plant into the Lancia.

Looking back, however fondly we recollect our first cars , I am happy to get into a car which starts first time on cold, dark, damp mornings without the need to dive for the WD 40 and cleaning points. Touch wood, the Fiat coupe will continue to behave. She should, taking into account how much has been spent on servicing. :D

As yes the essential classic car tool kit. Duct Tape to fix things that don't move and WD40 to fix things that do
