Best economical cheap to run hot hatch

What do you think the best hot hatch is if you wanted something cheap to run and that is relaible and relatively cheap to maintain?

Something that does 0-60 in 8 seconds would make me happy.
 
Fiat 500 Abarth, cheap to run, pretty nippy and loads of fun to drive.

There are also the 2.0 GTi and S3 and Leon Cupra R with the 2.0 TFSi engines, they go really well and are quite reliable and cheap to run.
 
Not one I would have thought of hdi but it does tick the boxes on paper. What are the running costs like though?
 
The pulsar is a supreme performer in sporty turbo guise but are they reliable? I've heard mixed reports from the owners of these @aston
