Aluminium rear calipers

I have been offered a batch of aluminium rear calipers (single pot).

The Ford numbers are;

1730926 / 8m512m088 - BB
1730929 / 8m512m089 - BB

I believe these are for the Focus and C-Max, can anyone confirm or otherwise?

Aluminum calipers? There is probably a scientific reason why, but wouldn't Aluminum crack under hot braking temperatures?

I hope not, as all of my Elan's calipers are aluminium!

I'm sure they won't! Just making sure as Aluminum isn't the best metal to use when heat is involved...

Says Aluminum brakes have a steel coating to prevent heat warping the caliper. Fair enough... Whether thats the companies specific brake caliper, I don't know!

As Hi-Spec, APRacing, Brembo, etc all make their high performance calipers out of aluminium I think that it should be OK
