4x4 conversion?

Hi, I'm looking at a list of mods to do to my car when money allows and one is to put a 2.0 zetec engine in, but with this extra power id want to convert the car to 4x4 does anyone know whether this is actually possible?
 
The only Escort that was 4x4 iirc was the Cosworth so you would be looking at a fair old wack to get it done. Not sure if the XR4x4 could be modified to fit?

Nope youth I will have to correct you. The was a 4x4 rs 2000.;)
Around 500 was made.

But back to the original question yes it can be done but it would require extensive work to complete.
 
Ah well done there TN ;) I stnad corrected lol. Mind you, shows how many of those original RS2000's are about then really. But does this info sound about right?

3 DOOR 2 WHEEL DRIVE 1991 - 1996 (UP TO 6000 PRODUCED TOTAL)
3 DOOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE 1994 - 1992 (UP TO 500 PRODUCED TOTAL)

There ain't many 4x4 rs's about these days and if there is they will be tucked away somewhere as the value of them will shoot up soon as they become a collectors item. They go for good money now.
