1991 Volvo 740 wago
Hey there all. I just bought a 1991 740 auto wagon. Been searching for a rwd wagon in San Antonio area, that's not all clapped out for ages. Finally found one in white. It needs work, it's running and drivable and is gonna be my daily, as soon as I get it more reliable. Gas guage is inop, speedo not working and idles so low, it wants to die sometimes at a stop.

What can I say? It's a blank canvas to me and I'm willing to do what I have to, to make it better. I really don't want to LS swap it but it needs more power. I want it to be an every day reliable cruiser. I'd like2 piston calipers up front, lower it a little, maybe 17s, 150 or so horse power and I'm good. Dude I bought it from, turbo'd his NA 740 but, I have no idea if this will work, what's involved or the hit to the wallet.

If I end up doing a v8 swap, I don't even know which would be the easiest.

Thanks for letting me in and for any future advice. Peace.

Hi and welcome |B

Volvo's are tough old things and you may want to join a site called "turbo bricks" if you want to turbo your car as that has heaps of info OR seeing you live in V8 heartland I feel sure that there is a kit for dropping an LS of some vintage into your wagon especially if you want easy reliable power.
