Black leather is just too hot

Best thing you can do is to put up a reflective sun screen that fits across the whole windscreen. Only takes a few seconds to put up and is good for keeping things inside cool when parked up in the sun. Good for keeping the steering wheel and hand brake from getting hot too not just the seats

    Death and taxes

They should be forced to pay it back through unpaid community service. A better punishment than jailing them as working is something they clearly avoid.

    Death and taxes

Agree with that. A lot of people fraudulently claiming disability allowance too though which is bang out of order. The whole benefits systems needs a good shake up as it's got well out of control.

I have washed my car in the rain before. Looks better washed so get it done :)

    Top mod of 2014

I think they will make turbos that can create more power but keep them as small as possible. More power and fast spool times are a winner for me. Exciting times :)

    Death and taxes

Which is exactly what I mean about it being too good for them. If you want luxuries you have to work for them in my opinion. It really does take the mick when there are people who work their socks off to be worse off than people doing nothing knowing their taxes are paying for these peoples...

    Death and taxes

I hear what you are saying. I would just like it to be made so that there is nothing appealing about being on benefits. Only way to do that is to cut the amounts they give them and not give them straight up money. All that is needed is a house and food. If you give them money it gets spent on...

Shall we get back on topic? Anymore stories driving related? :)

What is the most outrageous driving you have witnessed?

I don't think the police should be going around beating the crap out of people for fun. However I do think some idiots would be less inclined to cause trouble after a good slap. The amount of thugs knocking about these days who know the police have less power than they do and stand there...

    Death and taxes

I don't mind supporting those in need. What I do mind is supporting the lazy who have chosen that as a lifestyle choice. How is that even available as a choice? Because it is easy and pays better than all low paid jobs. I think benefits should be similar to pensions where you can only draw...

Cutting benefits back to a bare minimum would be a good way to offset the tax :)

What is the most outrageous driving you have witnessed?

I remember driving on the A1 about 5-6 years ago heading south on a stretch where it was 2 lanes. I was in the right hand lane about to overtake someone until they started swerving across the lanes. I held back for a while and they continued to sway across the lines unpredictably. I thought they...

    Top mod of 2014

When I first saw this I thought you were trying to get yourself an award :) If we are talking car mods then I would say possibly turbo charging could make leaps and bounds next few years. F1 are going to be putting a lot of research and development into this area which can only be a good thing...

What is the most outrageous driving you have witnessed?

It's happened to us all I'm sure where it leaves you stunned by what the thought process must have been for the driver to do whatever they did. I have one which happened yesterday in a car park but will need to draw a diagram to give it justice :) Let's hear all of your crazy stories. Only...

Do you indulge your need for speed

I have been known to use the motorway entry slip road as an acceleration testing zone. For proper use I keep it for the track where it is much safer. Already enough idiots on the road without adding to them.

    Do you use gloves

Never. I use the paper towels sometimes though if there is any spillage on the paintwork. Only because it looks untidy though :)

    TCJB's driving tips

When I jumped mine forward the hand brake was on. It was a gravel car park though so probably a reason why it slid forward.

    Stopping windscreen icing up

There is a patent to stop car makers from having them available as an optional extra. Aftermarket would be difficult to police which I'm guessing is why they are available. I was going to buy one for mine and then realised its quite rare for me to take it out in weather that would require me...

    TCJB's driving tips

Another top tip to avoid embarrassment is to make sure it's not in gear before starting the engine. I have seen someone almost crash into their own wall on the drive doing this which was quite funny. I always check now no matter what after almost bumping into a brand new Porsche 911 at the...

You could have a custom one made. There may even be a company which has done one for your model. Worth a look

    door opening

My advice would be to remove the door panel from the inside (few screws should be holding it on). Once that is off you will have a better idea of what is going on in there. Most likely will be something simple as there is not much to the door locking mechanism.

    is it worth it???

Depends on the car really but most will see some sort of improvement. Details of the car would help a lot with this question

    What was your first car

My first car was a 98 Civic 1.4 in red. Not fast but was pretty much bomb proof. Only thing I ever had go wrong was a dead battery. Sold it to my brother and he had it for ages with no problems at all either. After that I bought my first Supra so was quite a step up :)

    Planning a tuning project

I know what you mean mate. If you buy the car already done mechanically then you can add all the touches you want inside and out to make it yours. There are always things you can change to make it better for yourself. On mine I would like to change the steering wheel for something I like...

    Tyre polish

I would have thought uv deterioration would only come in effect over a long period of time. Tyres would be replaced long before that due to tread wear I would have thought. I'm guessing it's just to make them look cleaner.

    Running out of road.

The one that does my head in the most is when trucks overtake other trucks on the motorway. My problem is not the trucks overtaking as some are bound to be faster than others due to weight. What my problem is you then get the middle lane hoggers moving across to the outside lane and insisting...

    Vanishing speed cameras

I am against speed cameras and happy that they are starting to disappear. They are a waste of time if you ask me as people will generally just slow down for the cameras and that is it. The danger with that though is people are so worried about them and getting caught that they spend more time...

    Best current car wax?

I always use Autoglym polish and wax as its reasonably priced and seems to work really well. Not really used many else though to compare it to though. What do you use Waynne?

    Tyre polish

Dont see the point in it myself. I wash them when I do the rest of the car but that is as far as I go with the tyres.

Large tail pipe cool or crass?

Do you have a picture of what you mean? Im not sure if im understanding what you mean or if I have just not seen one yet. Sounds naff though from your description. 4" straight through on mine with nothing fancy on it.

    Miles driven on a tank!

My old car which is the same as the one i have now but with about 100bhp less used to do around about 320 miles to a full tank with mostly motoway driving. Not tested my new one yet but im guessing it will be either the same or slightly less. Not built for getting impressive mpg figures though...

    Planning a tuning project

buy one already done or at least the majority of work done. If I could do it all again that is what I would do. Saves money and a lot of messing around. Obviously if you have owned the car from start to finish you get the satisfaction of seeing it transform and know what has been done and any...

Sharing your pride and joy with others

It has crossed my mind a few times when leaving it with a garage. I reckon a lot of places would rag the hell out of your car and you wouldnt have a clue. Have been tempted to install a camera to be sure that the car isnt being abused. My new car has a switch which is hidden away with different...
