    My project

lol I like that, What has been seen, cannot be un-seen Well, hopefully, we'll have a few more coming up. Weather's turned cack but should clear again in a few days, so I'll be on it again. Need to get that filler rubbed back. Someone said to me the other day,'When is this going to...

    My project

Another update  'What's this? More than one a year??', I hear you say I know, had a bit more free time lately, about time too. Filled it a couple of days ago and left to harden Had to remove and sand all the overfill from the intricate parts around the door handles, in the creases and...

    Hi please be gentle

That's a nice looking Alfa. I like the graphics, they're not too much, and give it it's own identity. I like that. What sort of power is she putting out right now, and are you planning to up it?

    My project

I know yeah, sorry, been busy with other stuff for a while, but I've had some spare time recently, and some good weather. I'm gonna try and do some more today, but had to pop into town this morning, and gotta take her indoors out around 5. Might go get cracking now, and carry on after. I...

    My project

Rubbed back below level with some 80 grit. Then checked it was all below surface level All looking good so far, but ran out of sunlight. I was fixing a sloppy gearbox on a Mondeo earlier, and had a mot to get done, so been busy. I was quite happy with the filling, so now to skim with...

    My project

. . . Probably going to swap the wings for my modded ones, but did them anyway. I rubbed the top of these down with 180 grit as the lacquer was peeling, so needed to get rid of it, hence you can see the primer. I expect these are going on instead though. Just got to...

    My project

Hi everyone!! Well here we go with an update, at last!! The filler I've used has certainly stood the test of time and temperature. Here's the pics of where I'd gotten to previously. Door handles Bit of a mess still, but not cracked, or splitting, or coming away from the...

    van problem

Glad to hear it's sorted, and all down to some faulty wiring, those are the hardest to find I think

    8mm HT lead cable management

Hi people, The standard HT leads on my car are 6mm, but the ones I'm using to replace are better spec, 8mm ones. Trouble is the cable management. The plastic HT lead carriers are not going to be big enough. Does anyone know of anywhere that makes bigger carriers, or am I going to...

    My project

Yeah I do quite like the custom lights, and I do now have the American lids which reach to the top of the bumper, so I could modify those. We'll see how we go :)

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

I rekon you're dead right. I left it with the guy, with the above mentioned thoughts, and I think he's had it with it. If it was mine I think I'd strip it down and be checking all the seals and so on. It does run on starting fluid, so it can only be the air problem really.

    window tint

Yeah, if they're too dark, they are dangerous. I think they look nice, but it's a compromise between looks, and visibility. My Probe hasn't any factory tint to speak of, and so will get some aftermarket tint to fit the theme. I do hate seeing badly fitted tint, it looks bloody awful.

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

Thanks, yeah, I tried bleeding each injector, and each one seemed to be pushing out clean, air free diesel. I just loosened the line a little as you said. When I stop cranking, you see air, frothy diesel coming out along the fuel return line. I just don't get how that could be after...

Should all cars have internet access

Things like this --> Click for link --> They're becoming increasing common nowadays. Personally, the only thing I think they'd be good for is SatNav, and hopefully the stereo side of things would be good or at least good enough to add on your own sound system. You might be sat waiting for...

    My project

I know, I know, they're a bit on the large side, even for me. I much prefer the system on my project. Always fancied a twin system, just not that big. It's just too loud. They're new(ish) apparently, they're on the Wolfrace website...

    window tint

I think window tints make a car look so much nicer, as long as they're not too heavy - always go by your local laws for guidance as to what is legal :blink1: I like a decent set of alloys, maybe lower the suspension. Debadging is a favourite of mine, and smoothing can look good if not done...

    My project

Well hi people, I'm back  Didn't realise it had been so long, I haven't dropped off the planet, just been hyper busy, unfortunately not with the car, more with the missus health problems, but that's a whole other story. Anyways, not really much to update other than to say I am still here...

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

Thanks, I've been here a while, just not been on for a year due to circumstances, but I'm back. I posted my project, my Ford Probe, up ages ago, still got it too

    Hi all

Hi everyone, One or two of you may remember me, I posted the Probe project a while ago. That's been on hold for a while, but I still have the car, she's fine. How's everyone doing here, still seeing some familiar names :D Mick. EDIT: Wow just looked, it was a year ago to the day...

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

No, it's a dTi. After cranking, you can see air coming back along the fuel return line, so I'm guessing that air is getting into the fuel pump somehow. It did have to be changed over as, apparently, the immobilizer is coded to the pump, and so it would not run with the replacement engine's...

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

Hi, thanks for the reply. Well it hasn't got a common rail, each injector is individually fed from the pump, four separate fuel lines. There's no solenoids at the injectors. The fuel is getting there, the timing wasn't disturbed. It's just really strange. Fuel pressure seems fine. Someone...

Renault Master 2.8 diesel van engine change

Hi all, Haven't been on in a while, so hope you're all ok. I've got a friend with a Renault Master 2.8 diesel van. The thing won't start. The original engine had seized up and so was changed. The moby didn't like the 'new' fuel pump and would not disengage, so the original pump was fitted...

    My project

Yes fella, I'm going to fit emergency use terminals, and yes, at the rear. I'll be relocating the battery to the boot also, to allow for the turbo install at a later date, when I get that far. If all else fails, I do still have the boot lock at the moment, so could climb in thorugh the rear...

    My project

Hey people! I needed both the barrel and the housing almost completely gone hence the grinder - there is a madness to my method, trust me  The barrel of the push to start switch will fit nicely now without the gubbins there, and I don't mind not being able to refit a barrel as I'll...

    My project

. . . continued from last post The main innards comes out And this is what's left!! So now, when it all goes back together, and the cowling goes on, look :- A nice hole for my push to start button  And all that's left is the mounting points for the...

    My project

Well hello people!! I've broken my cardinal rule and been out working on the car in the freezing cold  As part of the smooth theme, and no keyless entry and start, this is what I was upto. Here's some pics :- Well for my project, I need rid of the key, so as well as no...

    my rims

Those are nice wheels. I love chrome. For me, I like the centre cover that hides the wheel nuts, I don't like to see the nuts. The bit I don't like on any alloy is the hex heads around the outside, especially on single piece rims where they don't actually do anything. They're terrible to clean...

Idea for modding rear light clusters

I would be willing to try cutting and welding so I can fit some different lights although I'm not greatly experienced with a welder. Those GTO rear lights are very similar . . . I'd not considered those. I've always been wary of blacking out lights due to the reduction in brightness. This is...

Do you turn your engine off

I only turn off my engine if I can reasonably expect to be sitting there for a while, i.e. at level crossings, really bad traffic jams on motorways, and the like, but I will not turn off at say traffic lights when it's only for a short while. I think stop start technology is just going a little...

    My project

I've never seen it done before, but the guy I know does this stuff was talking about ceramic coating pistons and exhaust manifolds. I just thought that an exhaust done would look well smart and fit in well with the overall green/black theme :blink1:
