+1 for the remap rather than tuning box. Remap takes it from 147 to 185bhp and the torque from 180 to 205 lb/ft.

Have you had it remapped or just added a boost controller? You will also need to delete the cat off the ecu. A remap will take it from 68bhp to 100 and the torque from 112 to 151 lb/ft, plus a bit extra with the decat.

Very old thread but hey ho. A remap will give 25-35bhp and 25-30 lb/ft depending on which engine they have.

The oil in aftermarket cone filters combined with the extra airflow tend to damage MAFs. Try clearing the fault codes and seeing if it comes back. Try giving it a clean, if not you might need a new MAF unfortunately.

Couple month old thread I know, but i haven't been here for a while. I'm guessing you have the 150bhp model and they are usually mapped to around the 190ish mark but can get 200-210bhp. If its only got 160, then the previous owner got stitched up, even 180 isn't exactly great.

+ the S3 intake manifold. 4bar FP is not needed, standard S3 one is fine. While you're doing all that, you might as well throw some forged rods in the engine.

As stated many times, get rid of the ebay chip, I dont believe one second that it gives an extra 30bhp n 90lb/ft. It will be more like 5bhp n 10lb/ft and a whole load of problems in the future. Remaps are your best option for diesels. You get a bag load of power as well as better fuel economy...

Just don't tell them, they have no way of finding out. They're not going to plug a computer into the ecu and if they do it won't tell them anything.

Get it remapped, takes the power to 195bhp and 161 lb/ft of torque. Then you'll have a clio 195 lol.

A performance panel filter is more than adequate as the standard airbox isn't as restrictive as made out to be.

You're not too far from Celtic Tuning who are in cornwall. They're excellent at what they do and don't charge as much as the likes of Revo, APR, etc,.

EDC17 and MED17 ecu's now have locked processors so that you can't map through the OBD port, basically to prevent all the cheap alternatives out there. With these cars the ecu will need taking out and bench flashed, so not too much of a drama.

Remap takes the power from 167 to 183bhp n the torque from 162 to 177 lb/ft. Not a huge difference but will be noticeable and make it a lot smoother with a much better throttle response.

It should be just read through the OBD but if it doesn't then it has more than likely had a trial by revo or apr which lock the ecu so no one else can map it. All that would need doing is for it to be bench flashed, reverted back to standard then mapped through the OBD. Simples :D

Remapping an R8 takes the bhp from 415 to 450 n the torque from 317 to 352 lb/ft.

You will need the K04 manifold, S3 MAF, S3 injectors, S3 TIP, S3 downpipe n then of course someone to map it (I would map it but South wales is a bit of a trek lol) With all that, you'd be looking at about 260-270bhp.

If the OP hasnt got his car mapped yet then a remap from me takes it to 97bhp n 155lb/ft of torque. The ecu doesnt need to come out, can be done through the OBD port.
