    Awesome drifting

If anyone can find this I will be pleased, I saw a program where a Japanese (I believe) drifter started a donut then opened the window, and sat on the door (left foot feathering the throttle) and continued to drift while winking at the ladies. Decent skill...

    Passengers and seatbelts

If you do something enough times it becomes second nature, which I'm pretty sure happens when you learn to drive. Think back to your driving lesson and I'm sure you weren't allowed to even turned the ignition without being belted up!! (unless you're a golden oldie... :cheesy:)

    Yo! hello

Welcome to Torquecars! Have a look through some threads and keep posting until you get to ten then show us your car. GTI Mk3 isn't bad for your first(ish) car  what plans, if any, do you have for this car? And let us know more about your project :amuse:

    Advice on completely upgrading interior?

Go to a breakers yard and find an SRI then rummage for the interior. I had the Corsa B but iirc the sxi/sri had different dials, gearknob and trim parts. Not sure about your seats but the sxi/sri might have better bolster support. Flocking is a good idea, will cost you around £110 for the...

    Ever had a blow out

Had one as a passenger once, the driver handled it rather well but the lad in the back with me dropped a brick! Was gripping the seats and everything haha. Not too long ago I had my discs replaced and a jammed piston freed at the local garage, all was well until I noticed a judder in the...

Haha very true, the cars fine pretty much. A few superficial scratches that will buff out, and a slight dint from where he faceplanted the door. Again nothing a size 10 won't sort out. Thanks pal

    Think! Bike

 I agree to an extent, the actions of a biker (not pointing fingers at the majority) can be rash and dangerous. But the consequences are much more severe when compared to a car which has crumple zones. Bikers' crumple zones are their face. What got me the most is although the bloke never...

    UKs Fastest Police Car

http://cars.uk.msn.com/features/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=155842304 It's old news but I just stumbled across it, and it had me thinking - why is there a need for these? At £50,000 a go is it really necessary at such a time where money is scarce and cutbacks are thrown left right and centre? I...

    Front brakes stuck on

Does seem odd. I'm not clued up on brake servos, but I think diesels are different to petrol in that they have a vacuum pump. Best bet is a trip to the garage, a DIY fix isn't something you want to risk if you're not that competent with a spanner. Especially when it comes to brakes, sorry...

    Front brakes stuck on

This happened to me, seized piston. Chewed through a fairly new disc and pads in the time it took me to drive home from the lake district. If you can get it free give it a good clean, or take it to a mechanic (they adore this job :amuse:) You said front brakes, have both stuck on?

    Dealing with tailgaters

When I had my corsa, the fog lights were on both sides of the light cluster and just below the brake lights. So when they get pretty close I just tootle along at the same speed and put the rear fogs on for a second - and then watch the gap increase :amuse: Nowadays I adopt a similar method to...

    Think! Bike

I didn't write it in a particular way to shift blame, I just wanted an accurate account of what happened. Looking back it's the lack of anticipation on my part that annoys me, as since previous incidents I often question what most drivers are doing. On this occasion it just felt like he was...

I was unfortunately involved in an incident yesterday which shook me up more than I care for. Since it happened I have been replaying it in my mind trying to decide what could have been done to prevent it' or if it could have been handled better. I was travelling down a road, not too wide in...

    Not Fun Anymore

Haha I'm not that anal yet, although I am aware of a large dent which could be a pain to remove. What annoys me the most is that there isn't an explanation for it!! Might as well take the front end apart and get the hammer out...

    Not Fun Anymore

Probably not, my headlights are mostly on top of the car. It tilts down the quarter panel, and I've checked under the bonnet if there is anything that may be wedging it open ut nothing. The front bumper is fine too, and it's odd I've only noticed now so it must be recent.

    Not Fun Anymore

Majority of people enjoy cleaning their car; getting everything out, going through the routine of inside/outside cleaning and waxing. But what if you stumble across a defect? I was just drying off the car, all smiles at how shiny it is when I discovered my left headlight was lower than usual...

I use cold water from the pressure washer or just a hose pipe. Prefer to have the buckets filled with hot water, helps with removing the grime. I see it as which would be more beneficial: A hot bath or a cold one :amuse:
