LHD - Just 7,900 Miles From New - The third instalment of the Black Series from Mercedes own in house tuning department, AMG came in form of the SL65 AMG Black Series. The first came in 2006, with the less than impressive SLK55. Mercedes upped their game with the second Black Series based on the 2007 CLK which quickly established itself as a monster on the roads. Mercedes stepped up a gear again when making the SL65 and it was there most immense creation yet. The two previous Black Series were both established on coupe models, so in true Black Series fashion the heavy folding metal roof of the standard SL65 was discarded with a new fixed carbon fibre item in its place, adding to an overall weight saving of 250kg. The 6.0 Litre V12 engine was no slouch in the AMG, however in the Black Series it was graced with bigger turbos and now produced 670 bhp and a gargantuan (electrically limited) 737 lb/ft of torque. A specially developed gearbox originally intended for the Maybach was the only gearbox in the Mercedes car range capable of handling these impressive performance figures. The chassis was designed to be as track focussed as possible, with a quicker steering rack with just 1.7 turns across lock, track specification coilovers and fully adjustable multilink rear suspension, should you ever wish to change the way the car handles. This superb example was delivered on the 10th December 2009, to Germany and specified from factory in the special order, most fitting and rare colour of Matte Green. The interior was finished in Beige with a split leather dash in Brown and Beige. The interior has stitched AMG logos in each headrest, a matching Brown leather steering wheel, carbon centre console and door inserts. Outside the car is appointed with 19" 12 spoke alloy wheels in diamond cut and gloss black finish, has a carbon front splitter and rear diffuser, and front and rear parking sensors. In August 2013, it was purchased by only its second owner, a fastidious collector who shortly after imported it into the United Kingdom with UK registration being granted in May 2014. Today this exceptional example has covered under 7,900 Miles from new and presents superbly. Having been part of a large collection it has been meticulously cared for and comes accompanied by its original books and leather book pack, spare key and full UK registration. It is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately with viewings available at our showrooms just outside London.
