I use this product to ward off the tryre compound hardening as it ages as it lowers the durometer readings thereby giving the grip of a softer rated tyre.

Does it reduce the lifespan of the tyre?

A softer tyre will always wear faster but will have more grip which is what is needed for short events like hillclimbs and the 1-2 klm street sprints that I enter.
