I have a mk4 mondeo and the rest discs were fairly old and became warped resulting in thundering and vibration when braking.

I changed them this year and bought some Mintex ones with matching pads.

Just six months later and they have warped again.

Is there a better brand or make that may be less susceptible to this. The car is not driven hard and does a daily mixture of town and motorway driving to and from work. What keeps causing this and should I look at specialist brakes like drilled to prevent a re-occurrence.

Well, drilling the discs won't prevent the warping, they will just add the risk of cracking to your problems :)

When you say warped, what do you mean?

Tracking or worn bushes can sometimes cause warping if the wheel doesnt run true.

How does that work? Hub, disc and wheel are all one unit so move together. How will worn suspension or steering joints result in a warped disc?

The reason I say they are warped is when new the is smooth. When they warp when I brake the car vibrates from the rear. I can test this by driving then gently pulling on the handbrake which then makes the car shudder. After changing the discs it stopped and has come back after a few months.

I doubt that the discs are warped. What is more likely is a build up of brake pad material on the disc surface, caused by either incorrect pad material or bedding in procedure.
