A3 1.4 TFSI 150 COD
I've just sold my A3 and I'm feeling really sad. I guess it's the same as the feeling a parent gets when their children leave home!

Is it just me or does anyone else experience this feeling?

I have formed an attachment to almost all the cars I've had so I guess that makes me pretty sad  I'm always upset to see them go especially if I've had it a while and it's been good to me.

Sad to sell a car? Yes! Same as a child leaving home? Hell No! The car seldom comes back but the kids....................

I have regretted a few cars leaving my possession with the main one being my HSX Chevette, should never have sold it. But family and house comes before material things so can't say it was a wasted sale as it helped us move to a bigger house. Probably why I still have my MG ZS180 after six years ownership, I would live to regret selling this one as it has been so reliable and still brings a smile to my face when driven hard on track.

I think there was only one car I couldn't wait to get rid of.........and that was driven into the local scrapyard and tossed them the keys! Had enough HGF in that one!

Not a sold car but, it was a sad moment when my little Smart got took away on a flat bed.

I'm sure there are quite a few Cortina, Granada and Capri owners with similar feelings.

I just hope my MK1 A3 will not be a collectable classic in the future!

I've sold most of my cars because they were turning into sheds! So I was pretty pleased to see them go. I was sad to see my first car a 205 Diesel go to a scrapyard though but it was more rust than car.

My old Rover V8 powered MK1 Capri :sad2: Needed the money for silly things like books and a roof over my head at Uni! That car and I were inseparable :)

regretted selling my Pug 205 GTi, not even sure why i did it but to free up garage space as didnt need the money. the only good thing was bought for 500 quid, had it for 3 years and sold it for the same amount of money. still long after it sometimes though as it was very solid car.

Every single time.

A car to me is not just a way of getting from A-B. Every car I have owned has had its own personality. My escort just wanted to keep going. Didn't want to die. Would break but would fix her self a few hours later. She blew her turbo but kept going. Like a wounded animal.

My Mazda was a stroppy cow. She would throw her teddies out of the basket if I didn't wash her in two weeks. But every now and again she would show me a good time. Show me she could behave and corner well.

And my Evolyn is so kind and forgiving. And it doesn't matter how much I miss treat her in corners and that, she still gives me another change.

I find it hard to sell any car. I have booked my Evo into the paint garage to get the front bumper sprayed, wheeels done up, stone chip taken out of the door and scuff marks removed over the exhaust in aid to sell her. But is that really fair? She thinks she is getting pampered, and then I go to sell her. She will be hurt, and wonder what she done wrong. I don't think I can bring my self to sell. :(:embarrest::love:

My first car was an 87 S10 blazer I bought it for 800 bucks when I was 17 and i had so many good times in that thing. I had it for 3 years and it was in horrible shape. I used it as trade in to get my Yaris and when I seen the guy from the dealership start it up and drive off it and all the memories came back. It felt like I just broke up with a girlfriend and I was heart broken

Every time I sell a camper I regret it, So I buy another hence the reason I guess I have owned so many, Luckilly I have learnt from this and kept my present bus for maybe 7 years plus and purchased it when they were still cheap (Pre-snob/fashion/ponce tax). I just read about someone who allways said he wanted a 911 but I guess couldn't afford one for a long time, So he purchased one with the sincere intent to sell it in excactly a year (Good plan I think) But and the big but is that he doesn't want to dispose of it now the year is up........tough one

I get attached to all my cars aswell as i tend too carry out all the work/services myself i especially miss my fiesta rst which i completely stripped and rebuilt including the engine and the second car i really miss is my calibra turbo and the last is my 93 jap import wrx impreza another car i lovingly worked on and cared for. The Impreza is especially sad as i sold it to a youngish lad who within 6hrs had flipped it into a field. I am sure once i have finished the mr2 and enjoyed it i will be sad to see it go aswell but like its been said before it is always replaced with another love. I have also had cars i was glad to see the back of the ones when i spent more time fixing then driving.

I felt sad but relieved when we sold the A4 Quattro, the running costs were starting to slay us! I miss the car, but I don't miss the endless stream of very expensive bills (tyres, clutch, oil, servicing etc...)
