cold air induction kits ?

i am thinking of buying one of these and wondered if they were any good ? was going to get it off ebay and wanted to know if any1 has had any experience and cud give me sum advice.

If you can, find a 'Dave F' induction kit (basically a K&N with a bigger cone and heat shield), that or a second generation K&N. Hook up a cold air feed and that'll do the job nicely.

I've found that properly designed and shielded ones actually make a bit of power and also increase the throttle response and acceleration markedly.

You just need to make sure the filter is a good one and large enough so that it can flow your required CFM of air and most important is having a good heatshield that will keep the hot air from the engine away from the filter. Oh, and an air feed coming from the outside of the car into the enclosure where the filter is.
