- This is my first Skoda.
Originally, it was heading towards a crusher but I rescued it having parted with 30 quid - and that's only because it came with a 3 month tax ticket.
It's served me well during the short time I've owned it and it had passed a recent MOT.
There is no rust on the car at all and that's unusual because I'm used to buying bangers and usually they develop holes on the arches. But not here. Not this time.
So, when the clutch packed in 3 weeks ago, I decided not to scrap it.
I'm not a mechanic by any measure however I'm good at taking things apart and putting them back together again.
I bought a Haynes manual off Ebay and coupled with the advice from my local Skoda dealer only 3 miles away, I have decided to change the clutch myself.
At the moment, the car is jacked up in the garden under a gazebo (in case it rains) and the clutch components are sitting on my kitchen table.
The clutch seemed to go after 2 weeks of struggling with 1st and 2nd gear. On examination, the th - About
- If anything can be modified it should be... especially if it brings with it performance benefits. It's in my nature. However, I've never modded a car. I don't know if I ever will. But this is just as good a starting point as any - if not better!
