It will almost certainly fit as the 406 had the same air filter box and element for all models across the range from 2000 on. Petrol, diesel, 4cyl or 6 cyl I think it will fit.
Whether you'll gain much, if any, performance is debatable at best. In my opinion I think it will make no difference at all.
You might get a different sound from the induction system. Not a reason not to fit it, but I am of the opinion that quieter is always better.
If you want to get a bit more from the 2.0 90bhp unit then fit an intercooler and remap it taking the intercooler into consideration.

hey Mr HDI, i havent been online for ages and i just brought a house(silly), do you know if an induction kit for the 110 would fit the 90? or could you tell me what size tube ild need to connect the filter to the car? many thanks

Na ive only got the 90hp model, their web site says they can pull it up 116 i think. ive been told that if i remove the cat section an put a strait pipe in ill gain loads more from the engine, do you know if this can be done or am i guna get loads of problems with the egr valve? thanks for the advice.

Hi mate. Celtic can be buggers to get hold of, I agree. However, their work is of a stirling standard and they're very supportive. Graham and Tony are based in Newquay, North Cornwall.
If your is the 2.0 110bhp they'll get about 150 I think. The torque increase is what makes it so special though. You'll be staggered how much smoother the whole driving experience is.

Ive just brought a 406 hdi (90) 2002 model an im looking to have it remaped by celtictuning an i have no idear how much it will proberly cost, they dont return emails.
Was wondering if you wold have any rough idear.
