- Seven years ago I bought my first car... an 88 Mercury Sable. It was supposed to be black but was grey from oxidation. I went through two transmissions and seemed that once I fixed something, something else would break or not work etc.. So since then I have loved to work on cars. I was in the army for six years, deployed to Iraq and was always around vehicles and repairing them. Now I take pride and joy in fixing vehicles.. especially mine. I figure why pay someone to fix it when you can do it yourself.
