Alloys marked for show use only,

Saw some sick alloy wheels with a highly polished mirror finish rim. The problem is that they are only guaranteed for show use. Why is that? Should I get them anyway?

No don't get them they will probably rust the minute you fit them to the car. They will also need regular polishing and often "show use only" alloys get curbed really easily and look awful when scratched up. You can get mirrored finished alloys which have been properly lacquered but these are expensive but at least they can be used for road use. The good only Mantra - "you get what you pay for" applies here as well.
