I wouldn't say I was an economical driver really... I rev the balls off my car quite often. You have to rev it hard in order to get it to go anywhere moderately quickly, to be honest. I just try to keep an eye on what's going on quite a long way infront of me and don't take liberties - I only nail the throttle if I know I won't have to take my foot off it again in a hurry.

Anyways... Seeing as you asked... I get about 32mpg combined on average if I'm not pushing it. Which is just a touch under the combined ecconomy stated by Skoda. The lowest I've got from a tank was about 20mpg, and that was from a long weekend in Scotland... The country roads up there are fun

Not bad at all

I'm guessing that's in a diesel? It's quite depressing that my mother's massive Citroen C5 estate diesel gets considerably better fuel economy than my piddly little 1.4 fabia petrol... Makes me want a Fabia VRS even more

Lots of cars have a display showing your current MPG these days, and I know for a fact that they make the majority of people drive more economically. But what they really need is a way for you to key in how much the fuel you just bought cost you per litre and tell you how many £'s you're burning per mile. That'd really make people drive economically!

I did a calculator that tells you this a while back :- http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator.php

I get 37mpg from my Petrol It sounds like HDI has slowed up a bit!
