| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? My mates Daewoo Matiz! My Dad's work van....absolute heap! Another mate of mine had a Fiesta with the tracking out, and the streering wheel would always go to the left. I also had a mate that bought a Nova, then bought an XTi sticker, then put a racing stripe on it!!

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? fiat Cinquecento mum and dad got 1 a few years ago as a courtesy car when theirs went into the garage
other than that my old fiesta. it burnt just as much oil as petrol, 0 - 60 in around a year. ohh and when you were lucky enough to get to 80mph you couldnt hear or see anything due to the noise and shaking

1.1 - yes, and capable of a blistering 38bhp!!!!
0-60, yes we timed it. Forty Nine seconds. No kidding
Brakes drums all round. Steering like a clockspring
Noise.
Good ole fashioned deathtrap |

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? Belive it or not I've never been in a really bad car exept for my uncles Mazda 323 turbo probably a 198?. It leeked gas and burned even more and you couldn't close the back so the fumes from the exhaust came in if you weren't doing at least 50 or 60 mph. The car I've been the most uncomfortable in was the back seat of a Toyota Celica. They look nice but they are just not for tall people to sit in. I'm just over 1.90 m. and I barely could get out and when I finally did I couldn't feel my legs for a short while. I've allso been in a 1991 subaru Justy and it felt more comfortable in the back than the celica. the problem with the justy was that the rpm meeter wasn't working exept when it wanted to and it was pretty much ruined but it was bought to be ruined and have some fun on it so it was ok, actually it was a lot of fun

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? I could add a few others to the list. I drove all these listed below and they're all scary:
85/C 1.0 Renault 5, made of tinfoil but drove as if made of lead;
94/M Rover 800 Vitesse with 'now you see me now you don't' brakes;
94/L Cavalier V6 with bald tyres all round and not seen a service for over 50,000 miles;
88/F Sierra 1.8 - solid enough but so painfully bloody underpowered;
86/D Astramax van. 1.6 D. As above but even slower and very very very noisy;
89/F Montego 1.6L - what idiot thought these could be sold without PAS?
2001/Y Laguna dCi - with a turbo that cut out halfway past a lorry on uphill stretch of the A5 in Leicestershire
That's my little museum of horrors |

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? 49 seconds to 60. Did it ever get to the end of a quarter mile run?
Mine - I was in a renault 5 with an old partially sited guy who scared me to death. He just didn't see anything coming but that was more of the driver than the car.
My wife used to have a SEAT Marbella with a heady 650cc engine. The back seat was a piece of cloth stretched between two uncomfortable bars deck chair style. The washer jet was a rubber suction button - no motor pump they really went in for weight reduction. When you were driving along a strong gust of wind literally slowed the car up. You'd go from 60mph to 40mph in a headwind and it really didn't like hills, or passengers or heavy loads, or roads really.

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? The 1975 Escort was my mate's first car back in the mid 80's, so it was ten years old then.
I even remember the plate - RNP 385P - that's how much I loathed the thing. We did once take it all the way to Southampton (from Iver, Bucks). Well over 1/4 mile but it was a battle of wills to keep going. |

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? Yep, I remember going in one of those Riva (Fiat 124 shape) things back in the 1980's. Wasn't too bad. I also remeber going in a new Samara, and that was tragic. |

| Re: What's the worst car you've been in? The 80's we shall refer to them as the "olden days" just after horse and carts were faded out and you could buy a gallon of fuel for 78p. (OK, so I remember a litre being 58p)
A mate of mine bid on an old Volvo 340 on ebay for a laugh. The other bidder upped his but so my mate decided to push him up a bit more. Anyway eventually the auction ended and my mate became the proud owner of a really old rusty Volvo 340!
