nice one Punck.

I have a mate who got stopped by Thames Valley Police. They alleged he was doing 97mph. In a 1981 Ford Escort Estate 1.1 L. The Police refused to proceed as they truly believed that the car would not be capable of that speed.

Personally I think he deserved two medals. One for getting it up to that speed (which must've taken days) and another for owning the bloody thing in the first place!

How times have changed. WIth VASCAR, Truvelo, LIDAR 2020 etc we have now there's no room for discussion or dispute.

That's where radar jammers, laser diffusers and anti photographic coatings on number plates come in!

theres nothing worse than paying out 100 quid for a can of the reflective coating on your number plates, then going to test them only to fine yourself with a hefty fine and points.

would you dare try it out? i reckon that you pay for it and then are too dubious to try it out, thus paying over your cash for a dressed up can of insette hairspray.

its all a con

Sadly we all get held to ransom being honest road users who pay our tax, insurance etc. We're easy targets.

If every driver who get's letter from the authorities suggesting we were speeding chose to ignore it then the system would fail. Even better - we all reply and ask for the case to be heard by a court.

The postal system would grind to a halt long before anyone even received a summons.

My old record was 130 in a 1.8 Ford Focus.

My new record is 140 in my dad's Mercedes SLK 230.

The fastest I've ever been in a land vehicle is around 230 kph wich is just around 143 mph with my uncle on his 1991 Mazda RX7 turbo wich is sadly off the roads now but will be on them again in 2-4 years after a complete makeover with 500+ hp to the street
