Thanks, that seems to be quite a novel approach. Is there any benefit doing this with a diesel engine? I'm happy to consider minor physical Modifications if there's a benefit. |

| Re: What causes this sound?... Hdi you can fit dump valves / recicuating valve to a diesel engine but it takes a lot of work and Modifications. and i dont think you get any better preformance

| Re: What causes this sound?... HDI have a look at http://www.zen19051.zen.co.uk/prod01.htm
cant see the 2.2 406 on their list but the 1.9s there so they might do one

| Re: What causes this sound?... They don't list the 2.2 HDi engine. The 1.9 is the XUD unit which is very different.
Do you think there's a benefit for me if I fitted a dump valve to my car?
Or should I just keep the accelerator down hard during upchanges?
This is really a needless question because I don't find the 2.2 with a custom map to be underpowered.
But (even at my age ), I'll take more |

| Re: What causes this sound?... i wouldnt bother had a look and another forum suggested using the £300 to buy uprated injectors as the valve only made a sound. i wouldnt think any performance would be benefited it

| Re: What causes this sound?... I'm thinking that I might need to get the injectors replaced at some point. They get a right royal bashing in HD engines, remapped or not. Perhaps reconditioned or remanufactured ones would be a good way to keep the costs down. |

| Re: What causes this sound?... Get yourself a panel air filter if you haven't already - they are washable so last forever and you will get marginally more top end power from it. Do you run an injector cleaner through it from time to time?

| Re: What causes this sound?... Still using Peugeot OEM filter to comply with warranty t's and c's.
I do run Forte Diesel Treatment though it every couple of months and I always use premium fuel.
Quite often use Millers Diesel Sport additive which is said to help look after injectors |

| Re: What causes this sound?... For insurance purposes the remap is a mod, and they're aware of it> clearly I've only told them its 190ish bhp, not the full 900
For warranty it's in factory 136bhp tune as far as Peugeot is concerned. And they've not noticed during the 45,000 miles it's been in remapped tune. Although one technician who drove it on a quick test drive did comment discreetly to me in the waiting area that 'there's no way that car's standard.' |

| Re: What causes this sound?... No, I'm only kidding - it is about 190bhp.
It's Waynne's post where he's questioning the sense of warranty T's and C's that allow a remap without question but won't allow you to fit a high flow panel filter allied to my trademark sarcasm. |

| Re: What causes this sound?... Sarcasm, now there is a high form of wit!
We were just kidding - I did exaggerate a bit. I might have said 187bhp and got into a major row with HDI so I thought it best to play safe
