Default VW polo sensor

hi guys,

my polo is in the garage (again); says its the crankshaft sensor. anyone any ideas what the crankshaft sensor does? my guess its something to do with the timing

You are right, it montiors the timing between the camshaft and the position of the piston inside the cylinder.

In my car it's near the flywheel and count 1 complete revolution of the engine and keeps everythin in order.

yes thanks, but guess what. the next day, another problem!!!
the rear window washer has got as much pressure as a geriatric at the urinal and the "tailgate open" warning light is intermittingly coming on whilst im driving. honestly, so much for german eengineering

Hmmm you take a car into a garage to fix one problem and then another comes along (I'm not saying a word here other than BE CYNICAL!)
