VAG401 isn't suitable for VW ?

I have tried on Audi A6 from 2008 and it's working perfect.Run trough all diagnostic and i have reset oil service interval.I also want to tried on VW GOLF IV and PASSAT, but it isn't able to recognise VW and reset, why???

That's because it's too late a version, you need 3.09 I think. Different cable too isnt it?

Cant say ive heard of this but i used vcds - need to get a new cable for the skoda - however i found that i could scan some cars without a problem but trying to get into the engine of my wifes mk4 golf was a no go.
