That's a bad one.

You know if you went thru then you'd either have got a ticket and fine or had a whole load of hassle getting the ticket revoked.

Suppose if you had the police car reg it might make thinkgs easier but all the same it would be unwanted hassle.

I would have probably drove thru the lights but then thought I should ov reversed!

glad you've mentioned it because if it does happen to me I think I'll try and reverse first.

Cheers.

finished work again last night at half ten and driving home (on the very same road) loads of tits driving stupid. its been a long time since i drove late at night but a ford mondeo came charging past me at 65 mph in a 40, aswel as swerving between lanes.

i passed 4 police cars on my way home and none of them was bothered, one was level with me on a dual carriageway (i noticed and stuck to 40) but the mondeo progresively tore away. did the police sort him? did they buggery.

Maybe hes "that guy" at the office (police station) that you dont mess with with :P

In Swansea, theres this kid who loves to race and his dad is the police superintendentt, so yeah he never gets pulled even when he races past cop cars, hes technically lost his license by now since hes been caught by 5 speed cameras (hes 17) but his dad "got rid" of them.

Haven't been pulled over by the police, yet.

Only encountered two police cars,

First on motorway doing 70mph in the slow lane whilst I was in the third.
All four lanes behind the police car were doing 70 and there was a huge clear stretch of motorway in front of cop. Naturally I got fed up at seeing that nice stretch and got up to 85mph moved into the empty lane next to the police car and went past.

Second, again on motorway, I was doing 95mph in the fourth lane when a police car came flying up behind me with his lights going, so I think crap and slow down to 80, then I'm stuck with a car doing the same speed as me in the 3rd lane and cop car behind so I got no where to go, again I get frustrated, boot it back up to 95 and go past this car and pull into the 3rd lane, cop car comes flying past cuts accross all 4 lanes up the hard shoulder and up the exit slip, then turns his lights off.

Id rather have the police pull me over when I'm perfectly fine, but like this morning when (after drinking last night) I was tired and somewhat typsy, police attention was last on my wish list.

I made a similar mistake on a long stretch of A-road from where I used to work. I chose the wrong moment to overtake and was faced with a police car coming over the hill (unfortunately not a monster). After pulling back in, the officer gave a disapproving shake of the head and tootled on by.

Crashing into a police cruiser must be one of the worst things that could happen in a car.

I was very rude to 'em once, even though I had been going quickly.

"Is this your car, sir?"

"Tell you what, officer, you wouldn't have caught me in that if it wasn't!"

Cost me 3 points and forty quid back in 1993.

Unlikely, I agree.

And if said driver turned out to be a masked traffic officer in a masked car then what kind of case could he make?
