Default tailor made cars.

I wonder if there would be any interest out there if manufacturer's let buyers completely spec a car from scratch.

Most offer base models and let you add accessories but what I would like is to specify the engine, brakes, suspension and body style. (Especially since most sporty cars only come with 3 doors and in your face styling.

I'd go for top performance and keep the styling understated and subtle, perhaps just allowing myself a carbon fibre accent inside and some nice sporty seats.

Brilliant idea but not economically feasible I'd say.

If it's a factory fresh BMW you'll find seats and wheels on the options list.

This is a good idea! I think some of the big boys can give you a very extensive choice of equipment that can be fitted to the model of your choice, but how far does that really go? I will start looking on the www and have a little look about.

I do know that with Heffner Performance in the States, you can go to them with a blank cheque and they will make you an absolute monster!
