Default Rear Wiper Problem

Not strictly a styling problem, but it's an annoying problem I've got nontheless.

My rear wiper on my Focus is wiping in a clean arc, it seems to lose contact around the top of the arc, so it looks like a semi circle with the top cut off about halfway down.

Now, I changed the wiper for a new one and it did a few clean sweeps, but has now gone back into old habits. I also switched the blade around in case that made a difference, but it hasn't.

It's a bit annoying because in these conditions, the back window gets all covered in road debris, and all I can see is up to the headlights on the car behind.

What could be the problem here?

get someone to operate the wiper while you watch it. it might just need to be bent slightly to increase pressure on the widscreen

pg is right, take off the wiper, your left with the arm that hooks around at the end of it
