Default Performace Software

Hi,

Does anyone know of any software that can predict the performance (0-60, 1/4 mile, max speed, etc) of a car based on generally available information about the car and its engine?

Thanks,

Andy.

Thanks,
That's kind of what i was thinking of, but is there any software that will take into account gear ratio, wheel inertia, centre of gravity, etc. To give a more accurate prediction?

Andy.

Sorry, I've never seen anything this detailed..

Take it all with a pinch of salt. It's very difficult to say if the results are at all accurate.

There are a few models - but they are all approximate. The power output of two cars exactly the same from the factory will never quite match.

Air temperature, tyre material, friction in the gearbox, oil type etc all have an effect along with 100's of other factors. You'd have to enter so many parameters that you will have to spend an hour typing in the technical data to get a result.

You might want to try downloading:- http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/0,39025...117513s,00.htm.
