Default New noises

If your car starts making a new noise does it worry you?

I tend to be pretty paranoid about any changes in noise from bumps and grinds to engine whirrs and clicks. Most cases they are just minor things but in a few cases they have been major faults just waiting to happen.

My front wishbone had almost rusted through on an Astra I had and it was a noise that alerted me to the problem. Another week or so and it would have just sheered off.

Also a noise on braking turned out to be a warped brake disk that had become dangerously thin.

Strip it out and you will see the meaning of new noises, you can hear every creak and every stone hitting the underside of the car lol.

When I had my ford, id use the old sterio trick.

My mazda - well there was always a noise of some sort with that

And my baby Evo - I am a little parinoid The slightest sound and I'm round the local car garage (he only ever MOT's my car) where he will tell me what is wrong (if anything) and how to fix it. He doesn't want to touch Evo's, he just tells me what is wrong (for free) and I advise everyone to go there!! Kind of a good deal if you ask me.

Ooh yes!,the slightest noise will get me looking around the car, also i worry about smells that suddenly appear i.e hot smells or rubber etc,but if they disappear quick then not such a worry.
