Default My sat nav wants me dead!

My sat nav is trying to kill me. Yesterday it got me to turn right of a really busy dual carriageway effectively asking me to do a u turn.

Like an idiot I took the right turn off the road and arrived in the middle of one of the busiest A roads ever. After about 15 minutes of waiting I saw my chance and pulled out and just managed to get up to road speed just before a PT cruiser nearly went into the back of me.

At times like this I'm so glad I have some power in my car. If i'd done that in my 1.3 Corolla I'd either die of starvation in the middle of the road or I would have had a nasty smash.

Why are there opportunities to turn right across busy dual carriageways? I bet it is a major accident blackspot and I bet the sat nav map suppliers wouldn't be interested in compensating me!

For some reason sat navs think they know best...when in most cases they don't. The sat nav can't see the road, and whats around you!

I passed the same stretch of road and saw other cars attempting the same thing. As the central reservation was quite wide it was not obvious you are going to be turning across a busy dual carriageway.
