Question Most enjoyable drive - from a reasonably priced car...

Have there been any cars (reasonably priced..say under 15K) you've (anybody) driven which have really surprised you in regards to power and acceleration?

Look forward to hearing your experiences.

First my dad's Octavia TDI and my Fabia vRS. Totally changed my opinion of derv burners.

HAd a go in a Fiat 500 the other day and it was fantastic very go kart like. A Golf GTTDI also changed my mind about diesels cos it just pulled so well.

what kai said about the 130bhp octavia tdi - was impressed - the older 406 hdi seemed quick too.

The Micra dCi 82 gets around quite nicely. But I'd have to give it to the Celtic boys who can probably get 120bhp from it

I've got a 406 2.2 HDi with a remap and that'll flatten a chipped Bora. Funny how we're all getting the diesel bug

"All getting the Diesel bug!" - I blame you for that HDi!

I was really pleasantly suprised by the 106 GTi and must say it was a fun car to drive. The power seemed to match the chassis nicely.

Hehe...yeah, I recently got the diesel bug too! Originally got it after driving a Kia Cee'd 1.6 CRDi LS courtesy car, when the turbo kicks in on that it's incredibly fun. Couldn't afford one of those unfortunately, so invested in a Corsa 1.7 CDTi - not as fun, even though it's better on paper than the Cee'd. So I'm looking into a remap now, with a possible 150bhp up for grabs!

that is very good indeed for a 1.7. My 2.2 is only just over 190.

A certain Civic pops to mind for me! I have no diesel bug (yet? We'll have to wait and see ).
