Default Max boost?

How max boost before detonation is measured?

Can a EGT sensor be useful to detect detonation?

Fuel octane, air temps and lots of other factors come into play here. Just going by the boost levels is fraught with disaster.

It goes far beyond that Waynne tbh.
Engine, Turbo, Fuel system just to name a few factors.
Max boost will depend on all of the above and more.
If the engine and turbo are strong enough then fuelling and induction will be the determining factor.

I think Waynne meant it the other way round, what factors affect detonation not how much boost you can run.

No-one here can tell you. Like Waynne said lots of factor affect detonation. You can be experiencing det at 1psi if something is not right.

Is it an Uno Turbo? They have a knock sensor, no? It should retard timing if it detects knock. You can listen for knock on the road or dyno with det cans although if you know what you're listening for you can often hear it without. I think you can also get some sort of display these days too which shows you when knock is occuring.
