Default Are kit cars any good?

Are there any good quality kit cars out there. Most seem really plasticky and tacky especially up close. The performance figures seem absolutely awesome from some of them but is this all they have to recommend them? Do we have any kit car fans out there?

Some kits are very good and comprehensive (Dax kits are usually pretty good) others aren't and you have to improvise an awful lot with the finishing of the car.

It also depends one hell of a lot on the builder.

Also depends on what sort of kit car you want to get. Something like a Super 7 or a Westfield with a Red Top engine on carbs would be amazing but i wouldn't bother with the kit cars that are replicas of cars we can't afford.

Anyone seen the dax Kamala? With a cosworth engine it does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and looks fantastic from the back - but I'm not too sure about the front. Total build cost is about £12000 which does seem a lot but making your own kit car is fantastic fun. I agree that replicas often do not work. (The DAX rush and Trojero are awesome and can be built to a VERY high standard!)

The Kamala looks really ugly from the front . It will need some major performance to make it worth buying. The gear lever is also on the right. How wierd is that!
