Just watch the leaves

I was driving on a country road the other day and the end bit was totally covered in wet leaves.

Braking on it was nigh on impossible, It was just like I was sliding along on ICE. Thankfully it thinned out a bit and with the help of the ABS I was able to stop safely but it's definately worth noting that wet leaves can be trecherously slippy.

Have you had any near misses due to wet leaves, or the wrong sort of leaves on the roads?

I learned about this one years ago in Cornwall on a twisty lane in November. Treacherous things.

Never really experienced it. But i'm always being told by my dad to drive carefully around this time of the year because of it.

Never really noticed it in a car. I used to hate it on a motorbike tho. Was a nightmare if you were half way around a corner, banked, and you hit a patch of wet leaves. Proper squeeky bum time.
