Default How do you setup your car seat?

When I was a lad I had my seat at a 45o angle. Nowadays its is much more upright. Legs on pedals with slight bend at the knee and I can reach the top of the steering wheel with my palms.

Are you particularly fussy about how you set your driving seat? Do you get leg or arm pain on long drives?

Reclined and pretty low, but then I'm tall so I'm quite a bit back.

I make sure I can see and I have the wheel close enough that I can hold the top comfortably. Its not the ideal driving position but its comfy and pretty safe so

Over 6' 4" so quite a long way back and low with front of cushion raised to support underneath thighs. Backrest reclined so that sat back in seat arm elbow is nearly straight at TDC of wheel.

This is very very easy 'cos I've got eight way electrically adjustable front seats. God only knows how much weight all those motors add to an already heavy car.

Does it annoy you when your car comes out of the garage and the seat has been adjusted? I always then attempt to adjust it whilst moving (VERY BAD IDEA) and end up skidding back and have to yank myself forward.

Doesn't bother me all that much as I'm a compulsive seat fiddler anyway.

Haha, i tried to move my seat back (just a bit) while driving up a hill. Ended up hanging on to the steering wheel with my feet of the pedals. (was in my ol rover that, good memories!)

Mine changes every now and again, but it#s usually very far back and quite reclined. A lot of this is to do with the fact that I'm pushing 6'6 and I need the room :P

Hats off to Skoda for realising that there are people over 6'2 who need to drive. The limits of adjustment for the driver's seat in a Fabia are awesome.

Hansi is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: How do you setup your car seat?

Pretty far back and low and seat not too upright 'cause then I get pack pains and the seat back because of my hight. I have it far back but still close enough so I can grab the top of the steering wheel. But yeah, I'm young so it might be considered pretty far back but it's comfortable
