How do you prepare your car for Winter.

What do you do to get your car ready for Winter? Have you done it yet?

My list
Full wash and wax
check tyre pressures/depth
check air filter
check oil levels
check antifreeze
Top up washer bottle with anti freeze solution

What about you and have I missed anything out?

put in a few extras such as :

• Power pack gets a full recharge over night
  Check the torch (like the pack it stays in the car all year round)
  Hi viz padded jacket
  shovel
  survival blanket (helpful for frozen windows or just keeping warm )
  sleeping bag and jerry can with lighter ( if going out of the area )

  dont do this the antifreeze is corrosive and will damage the paintwork just use normal washer fluid at higher concentration

I usually just change the oil and filter, then check the other things like coolant, washers, tyres and pressures.... Oh and put the sunroof blinds on too.

If I do it early enought (before the weather gets bad) then its a wash and wax too.

I didn't mean antifreeze, I meant washer solution. There is a Winter forumlation which has greater antifreeze properties.

Misunderstanding like that can be expensive. Like when I told the wife to fill the car up with petrol and she phoned me to tell me that if she opened the door to get in the petrol would gush out

Winter tires, check antifreeze, can wash it all year around because I can go into a good garage.

Actually not much I do for it, the tires are wery important here over the wintertime but it can be difficult to decide when to put on the tires because the weather changes so fast around here

Put tennis rackets on the bottom of your wheels, furry seat covers and keep your car in igloo's overnight.
