Has a mod ever caused you a breakdown

Has modifying your car ever been a direct cause of a breakdown?

I note that most warranty companies insist that the car is standard and not modified and I just wondered if they were being ultra paranoid?

Can't say that I remember any mods causing a breakdown. However I have not owned a car from new that has been modified so not encountered that particular issue. One I was considering had their own approved selection of tuned parts that were warranty approved.

Yes, I paid for an LPG conversion and after about 250 there were 1.5 metres of flames coming from under my van, it looked like a flame thrower, luckily I could shut off the gas at the touch of a button and no damage was done, When I called the installer as angry as can be he acted as if it was nothing and didn't seem supprised at all.
