Question Easy Engine Swap Ideas

Hi, recently a friend and I have been thinking about starting and engine swap project. we are looking to make a fast road legal car by putting a more powerful engine in a smaller lighter car idealy a small hatch. we don't want to start something too ambitious or complicated has anyone got any suggestions for an easy engine swap? what engines go easily into what cars without too many complications? I know alot of people drop redtops into corsa B's we are looking for something like this.

Thanks
Mike

The 205 with a mi16 engine is a good project and has been done a few times. You can get quite a few big Vauxhall engines in the Corsa engine bay.

3.0 V6 306 anyone? Its been done.

I think for simplicity though get a mk1 escort and drop in a 2.0 Ford engine.

I followed a couple of builds on these and the end result is every bit as good as a modern hot hatch. There are quite a few kits around to help with things like engine mounts. Keep us posted as to how you get on and what you decide to go for.
