Gti Turbo4 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default dump valves

hi, i have just brought a dv36 dump valve for my 2000 (w) golf and heard mixed things about them, has anyone got one fitted to the same vehicle and whats it like.

Welcome to torquecars. Tell us about your car in the VW section we are getting quite a few VW owners signing up at the moment.

I've got an audi 1.8T which may be a similar engine to yours. The ECU will decide that pressure is lost in the system and adjust itself to try and compensate. The Audi has a closed loop system and seems to monitor the combustion process every step of the way! Some people have used used them and not noticed a problem but others have taken them off.

Heres a question: Do dump valves increase performance? Let the arguement begin.

No, but I'm pretty sure they increase the life span of your turbo..
